We did a Back to School Uplift Bag Giveaway. This was a 3-week open nomination to schools that were in Marion County and Hinds County. The giveaway included Teachers and students.

The Purpose of the uplift bags is to encourage students and teachers to remember they have support no matter how hard things get.

The YESS program was implemented. The Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Success (YESS) project aims to provide comprehensive support and opportunities for youth development through access to viable food resources, entrepreneurship training, civic engagement, and cultural awareness. The YESS project seeks to create viable communities, develop stronger community partnerships, and increase civic engagement.

Objectives:

1. Increase access to viable food resources for underserved youth through community gardens, workshops on sustainable agriculture, and nutrition education.

2. Provide entrepreneurship training to equip youth with the skills and knowledge to successfully start and manage their businesses.

3. Foster civic engagement by organizing leadership and advocacy training, community service projects, and opportunities for youth to participate in local decision-making processes.

4. Promote cultural awareness and appreciation through cultural exchange programs, workshops, and events celebrating diversity.

5. Encourage total well-being with routine physical activities, mental health therapy, and job/entrepreneurship preparedness

Under the YESS project we

June- We sponsored 5 children to receive lessons from Total Body Submersion Swim School 

July- We held our first Series “ Let’s Talk and Make Change” by partnering with NFusion Metro ( our mental health partners) Students were provided snacks, food, and bags as well as notepads and gift cards for signing up.

August- we collaborated with Sting Like a Bee Photography and assisted with donating to a teacher to help support her classroom with supplies, snacks, and whatever that teacher may have needed. ( similar to what we did back in 2023 at the beginning of the school year

October- Participated in Stomp Out the Bullying hosted by NFusion Metro, we additionally sent donations for Halloween Candy 

November- 1st Highway clean up Community Service Certificate of Completion

December

  1. We adopted 10 students. In collaboration with Joe Joe Joy, we adopted 10 students, providing critical resources to help them succeed. Four of these students received full coverage for their sports needs for the season, enabling them to participate without financial burdens. Each student also benefited from personalized investments toward their academic or career aspirations, such as funding for supplies or mentorship opportunities.

  2. We additionally sponsored a local school (North Jackson Elementary) 

  3. Sponsored Tougaloo Athletics Team for a meal

  4. Donated 2 courses for Data Analytics, Simplified for a chance to excel in their career as they continue after graduation ( Nikatta Miles, Kerri Alexander) with their courses they will have access to

    Their Package Included:
